Looking for new local restaurants to explore?
We have you covered with some of the newest and tastiest “grub hubs” to hit Silicon Beach.
800 Degrees (Playa Vista): The highly anticipated opening of this make-your-own pizza restaurant has finally come! The international chain (now in CA, NV, Japan and Dubai) is serving up authentic Neapolitan pizzas that are fresh, made-to-order and bake in 90 seconds. For those who are gluten free or prefer something on the lighter side, their salads are about as amazing as they come!
Da Kikokiko (Playa Vista) & Mainland Poke (Marina del Rey): The poke craze continues to sweep LA and Silicon Beach in particular with the opening of these two tasty spots. Da Kikokiko is celeb chef Brooke Williamson’s most recent and innovative project. Brooke also owns Hudson House in the South Bay and The Tripel and Playa Provisions, both in Playa del Rey. Da Kikokiko is serving up fresh, Hawaiian inspired cuisine, including poke bowls and musubi, in beachy style. Right across the way, Mainland Poke JUST opened in the Waterside Center in Marina del Rey. Their slogan is Fresh. Sustainable. Satisfying. and the restaurant’s modern and unique twist on poke highlights prime cuts and bowls that are crafted to order.
Cafe Solar (Westchester): This is the new, ideal spot to buy a cup of coffee, enjoy a fresh baked good and pull out your laptop for a day’s work. Cafe Solar is a hip, open-air cafe with an impressive menu that includes gourmet egg dishes, crepes, salads, sandwiches and dinner plates, not to mention mouth-watering baked goods, organic coffee and a variety of pressed juices and kombucha. Hidden in what was formerly an office building, make sure not to miss this hidden gem in the heart of Westchester!
